Pro Tip for This Project

Instant Magnetic Art Hanger

Securely tape a metal paperclip flat against a wall or window where you want to display your artwork.

This creates a damage-free display, as you can simply use a small magnet to hold the art in place over the hidden paperclip. Perfect for displaying drawings, lightweight prints, or greeting cards without damaging walls or the art itself.

Inspiration & Mood

Before You Start

Mood boards are important because they visually capture the style, tone, and feeling of a project before you begin, helping you stay consistent and inspired. They act as a creative roadmap, guiding color choices, materials, and overall aesthetic. In short, they turn abstract ideas into a clear visual direction.

Stained Glass Poppy

Materials

-White basket-style coffee filters

-Red and black washable markers

-A spray bottle filled with water

-Scissors

-Black construction paper

-Glue stick

Step 1

Take a coffee filter and use the red marker to color it, leaving a small white circle in the very center. Don't worry about making it perfect; scribbles work great!

Step 2

Place the colored coffee filter on a protected surface or tray. Lightly spray it with water and watch the red color spread and blend like watercolor. Let it dry completely.

Step 3

Once dry, you can gently trim around the edge of the coffee filter with scissors to create a wavy, petal-like shape for your poppy or leave it as is. This will depend on the look you’re trying to achieve.

Step 4

Cut a small circle from the black construction paper. Use the glue stick to attach this black circle to the center of your red poppy.

Step 5

To create a frame, trace the outline of your poppy onto the black construction paper and cut it out, then cut out the inside to make a thin border. Glue this black frame around the edge of your poppy.
